Dear Beta Members,

I would like to welcome all of you back from the holiday break. I hope you all had time to recuperate and are ready for another busy school semester.

During the coming semester, we will have a variety of opportunities for our members. The Western Regional Meeting for Beta Alpha Psi will be held in Las Vegas this year. It will give us the opportunity to take advantage of campus presentations from companies that aren’t normally in Las Vegas. We will also be holding a social event with our Reno chapter while they are in Las Vegas. We are currently planning on having more than 15 professional events. The events will include many with government entities, private industry, small and large firms.

Our major focus for this semester is to provide you with an opportunity to build stronger ties with members within the chapter and to have more chapter support for our members as they go to professional events throughout the semester. We are starting a mentorship program. We hope that by giving our newer members someone to help them as they go to their first events, we will have more confident and successful members. We will also be holding an on-campus presentation to explain proper etiquette for networking with professionals. We will be holding a number of member socials this semester. These will include sporting events, an ice cream social and our annual alumni barbeque.

This semester is sure to be filled with opportunities to build relationships with professionals, alumni and fellow members. I look forward to seeing all of you at our events.
